Max Verstappen has officially filed a complaint with the FIA, expressing serious doubts about the legality of Kimi Antonelli’s Mercedes. The Dutchman, visibly frustrated after another dominant victory for the young Italian, claims “inexplicable technology” made the difference at Suzuka.

According to sources close to the Red Bull team, Verstappen has video footage showing that an unknown device was attached to Antonelli’s car just before the start of the race. This device, which according to Verstappen does not appear in the technical specifications approved by the FIA, could have affected the car’s performance during crucial moments in the race.

“This is no longer about competition, this is about integrity,” Verstappen reportedly said to a small group of journalists after the race. “If this is allowed, we might as well stop racing.”
