Brad Gilbert predicts Sinner and Alcaraz will share 12 consecutive Grand Slam titles by the end of 2026

Jannik Sinner is at the peak of his powers at the moment. The Italian has won four Grand Slam titles, but it almost feels like its a certainty that he’s going to add to that number very soon.

Brad Gilbert, who has been the coach of Andy Roddick and Coco Gauff previously, believes that following the decision to split between Carlos Alcaraz and Juan Carlos Ferrero, Sinner has an even bigger advantage in 2026. Gilbert said on Tennis Channel:

If you put Andre [Agassi] and Novak Djokovic in the blender, you come up with Jannik Sinner. And yet he’s a lot methodical around the court like a Pete Sampras. He’s very unflappable. But I feel like the situation now with Alcaraz.

Obviously, we don’t know what’s going to happen moving forward. But I foresee Sinner having a monstrous season. I don’t see him losing more than 5 times in 2026. I think if he starts to get over Alcaraz and starts beating him.

I think he’s going to win 3 majors in 2026.

Sinner only lost five times in 2025. However, that was largely due to his missing three months because of his doping suspension. Despite that, he managed to achieve peak levels of consistency, reaching all four Grand Slam finals and winning two of them.

Outside of that, he also managed to win one ATP Masters 1000 title and ended the season by defending his ATP Finals crown.

The Italian will be a strong favorite at the Australian Open, as he looks to join Novak Djokovic as the only players to win three consecutive titles at the Rod Laver Arena.

Although Brad Gilbert has spoken highly about Jannik Sinner‘s potential dominance, the well-known tennis expert also expects to see the continued dominance of him and Carlos Alcaraz. He added:

Obviously, we don’t know what’s going to happen with Alcaraz. I don’t see him dropping him from 1 to 9. I do see him in the top 2. I will put the over and under, generously. They have won the last eight Grand Slams. I’ll say three and a half.

So, if you wanna bet, they are going to win 4. But by the end of 2026, they are going to be at 12 straight slams.

The duo of Sinner and Alcaraz have dominated the tennis world in the past two seasons, collecting an astonishing eight Grand Slam titles. Moreover, they have won a combined eight Masters 1000 titles since the start of 2024, with Sinner also winning the last two ATP Finals.

Sinner and Alcaraz are the second pair in Open Era history to reach three consecutive Grand Slam finals. The previous one was Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, who played three in a row from the 2011 Wimbledon to the 2012 Australian Open. The Serb won all three encounters.

If Sinner and Alcaraz managed to play the finals at the Australian Open, they would be the first pair in Open Era history to achieve that feat.

It would also be the first final of Alcaraz, as he has yet to go beyond the quarterfinal stage in his career at the Rod Laver Arena.

According to Italian media, Sinner has entered the Qatar Open. Sky Sports Italia reports that he will make his debut at the ATP 500 event in February. The tournament will run from February 16 to 21.

In recent seasons, Sinner competed in Europe after the Australian Open. He won the Rotterdam Open in 2024 and was scheduled to return in 2025. However, he missed that period due to a three-month suspension.

For 2026, he is set to bypass European events entirely. Rotterdam begins on February 9, but his name is not on the entry list. The field includes players like Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Alex de Minaur.
